"Bauhaus" style tenement (ceramic minature)

"Bauhaus" style tenement (ceramic minature)

The 'Bauhaus' style tenement is the archetypical structure of the 1930's in Tel Aviv, at which time the city was going through one of its biggest growth spurts. It became so common that in the preceding decades, and in fact until very recently, 'Bauhaus' style buildings were synonymous with plainness and ugliness. Because of this, many of these tenements were abandoned and neglected. These days the style is having its first comeback, at the ripe age of 70.

This particular miniature is of a 'Bauhaus' style tenement at Rosh Pina St. # 26
