"Box" Style Tenement (ceramic miniature)

"Box" Style Tenement (ceramic miniature)

The "box" style tenement is probably the most common architectural form in Tel Aviv, being the most popular with contractors throughout the 1950's, 60's, and 70's. It infuses 'Bauhaus' and 'Le-Corbusierian' elements such as a flat roof and pillars on the ground floors, with an assortment of technological advances such as air conditioner units and the distinguishable solar powered water heaters on the roof. The result is considered one of the ugliest buildings in the cityscape.

Not modeled off any particular 'Box' style tenement, this is a typical one that could be found in Tel Aviv.
